This is Sumatra Mandheling Grade 1—a classic Indonesian profile built for comfort: full-bodied, low-acid, and deeply layered. “Mandheling” is a trade name often used for wet-hulled (giling basah) Sumatran coffees, a processing style that helps create that signature syrupy body and rustic sweetness.
In the cup, expect dark chocolate, cedar, sweet tobacco-like richness, and warm spice, with a grounding earthy finish that makes Sumatra… Sumatra. We like this one as a “slow sip” coffee—equally happy as a drip brew or something sturdier like French press.
Not my favorite but taste is still very strong and good.
Sumatra is probably my favorite bean. Consistent in roasting, aroma and flavor.

Been drinking Sumatra bean coffee since late 1970's, before people really understood the difference in coffee (as a whole), the Roaster does a wonderful job bringing the flavor properly out. I love the work they do here, fine a bean that you like, give up on the Foo-Foo ones, look for a bean or mixture you drink black every day.
