This AA lot comes to us from Boma Farmers Cooperative Society in Fort Tenan, Kericho County—a western Kenya growing area with serious range and a distinct, humidity-kissed climate. The coffee is produced by hundreds of smallholders delivering cherry to Boma’s wet mill, where it’s processed with classic Kenyan precision for maximum clarity and pop.
Boma is fully washed and slow-dried on raised beds (the kind of careful, patient work that shows up as clean fruit and crisp structure in the cup). We like this one on the light-to-medium side to keep the berry brightness front and center, with just enough development to bring out that cocoa depth.
Perfectly smooth!!
I’ve really come to appreciate the Kenyan as a reliable pour-over at home. The aroma from the bag gives balance and the flavors are easy to love. The pleasant, balanced acidity makes it especially enjoyable to drink black.
What makes this coffee even better is picking it up directly from The Coffee Roaster. The staff are always kind, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the coffees they roast, and I enjoy grabbing a pour-over to go while I’m there and trying something new based on their recommendations. They offer the best pour-over experience I’ve had in Lincoln, and it’s clear they care deeply about getting it right. For anyone curious about exploring great black coffee, this is exactly the kind of place that can change how you think about it.
This Kenya coffee is the best I have tasted from anywhere. The roast levels is perfect for drinking black. What a find!
